Free stuff update

October 11th, 2006 at 01:40 am

batteries, FAR at Eckerds - retail value: $3, my value: $3
package of Chai tea, FAR at Rite Aid - retail value $1.99
samples of DH's lotion at his dermatologist appt. yesterday (if I can get his eczema under control, I won't even need to fill the script) - retail value: 0, value to me (potentially): $10 co-pay

Total freebies: $282.21 (retail value: $972.96)

A side note: I was able to cut back on a gift expense with a little creativity and shopping on my "gift" pile. We celebrated my mom's birthday last night. I picked up a nice shirt on sale at Sear's for $9.99. I also got her a picture album that I had bought for myself years ago, but never used (it's VERY nice) with the offer of my assistance, every night until it's done, to label and put her photos in the albums. She currently has two large Rubbermaid totes of pictures dating back to when my brother was born (30 years ago). It has been a goal of hers for years to get these organized and in albums - I think with my help, we'll get it done. It has just overwhelmed her for so long, she needs someone else to help push her. Anyway, she was very pleased with the gift of my time and I spent about $20-30 less than I typically do. Get creative!

    Jodi,

Double-dip opportunity: There is a $3 Rayovac mail in rebate. Do you have a copy of it? If not, let me know and I'll send you one (I was going to put my extras in the train next time around).

The Rayovac rebate allows you to submit a copy of the store receipt, along with the UPC code, so you can copy the Eckerd receipt and submit it here, along with the Eckerd rebate. Alternatively, you can buy another package of Rayovac batteries from some other store and submit the rebate that way.

Let me know if you want the rebate form...

Helping with the pictures is such a thoughtful thing. She can enjoy talking with you about what they mean to her.
